Were currently recruiting for a Transport Manager to be based in our customer site in Chorley, Lancashire. As part of this busy transport operation, youll ensure the timely and safe dispatch of drivers.

Were looking to offer a salary of up to £38,110per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What youll do on a typical day:
Reporting to the Regional Transport Manager You will have day to day responsibility for the running of the Chorley site
The requirement to oversee a remote site (3 Vehicles & drivers) in Regional TMs absence
A flexible approach to working hours to meet the needs of our customer and to deliver an exceptional level of service
Lead the Transport Operation always demonstrating the XPO core values
Safe, legal compliance and efficient execution of transport operations, ensuring the network delivers SLA's/KPI's
Responsible for driver and fleet legal compliance in accordance with Operator Licencing standards
Full responsibility for all operator licence requirements, supported by CPC qualified XPO colleagues
Fostering an environment that promotes sharing of ideas and best practice, benefiting the network & customer
Manage operational costs and identify operational cost trends - i.e. fuel performance/accidents etc.
Positively drive the Transport team and operation to deliver projects and operational initiatives
Focus on driving positive QHSE engagement and performance within the transport team
Ensure all processes and procedures are followed and that we operate a safe and efficient environment
Provide leadership and guidance for the Transport team to enable them to meet objectives, encouraging open communication, constructive feedback, and engagement
Ensure all ER cases are managed at site level, with the support of central HR team, in a timely and efficient manner
Strong Microsoft Office skills Excel / Word / Power Point / Outlook
Ability to communicate accurate information in a timely manner at varying levels, both verbal and written
What you need to succeed at XPO:
Knowledge of Tachomaster, TarkM8 and SAP would be advantageous
Success in building high performing teams
Have experience of managing fast paced transport operations
Strong leadership skills being able to motivate and engage people at all levels
Strong knowledge of Road Transport Regulations, Health & Safety, fleet compliance, RTD & WTD directives
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good attention to detail.
Strong decision-making skills, and a sense of responsibility plus accountability
Ability to work under pressure and deal with challenging situations professionally.
International and National CPC essential To be named on Chorley Operator Licence
IOSH desirable
