Purpose of Post: To act as a leader of a production team, and to be responsible for daily and weekly production targets, Be a role model to team members in terms of leadership, behaviour, and attitude. Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and be proactive. Key Tasks: Contribute in the production team meetings on a daily basis. Ensure work area, complies with all agreed housekeeping standards in line with 5 Ss. Maintain Health & Safety Policy and Procedures within the team. Help organise manpower to meet Quality, Tact and Efficiency targets. Provide technical knowledge for the team and mentor them on best practice. Raise any concerns with the Production Line Manager/First Line Manager, which may affect the business. Brief team operators when required. Ensure procedures are followed for recording of information throughout production process and for rejection of any materials. To be responsible for training/coaching any employee who is part of your team. To communicate effectively to relevant Manager/Departments. Measure of Performance Must be highly motivated, possess good problem-solving capabilities and achieve quality standards and tact consistency. Must show good leadership, communication qualities, ensuring that work is being carried out to the agreed quality standard and in the most efficient manner. Essential Criteria: Educational Attainments: GCSE English and Maths or equivalent OR NVQ Level 3/Time served in a relevant discipline Job Experience: Experience in leading a team, Ability to read technical drawings, Experience of managing resources and production processes, Experience dealing with customers (internal or external) Technical Skills: Ability to visually assess the job in order to determine if workmanship standards are being met, Must be able to train operators and to record training activities. Desirable Criteria: Job Experience: Leading a team of 15 employees, Previous experience in a similar role, Previous production management experience, Previous experience in working to ISO9001 standards, Experience of managing individuals and teams to improve performance. Specialist Knowledge / Skills: Ability write/create Workshop Manual Procedures, Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bus body build process knowledge.
