Camera Operator Editor - Birmingham
What you'll do:
* Acquire and deliver media to Sky News using various equipment depending on the story's needs, potentially independently.
* Operate cameras and lighting confidently, using the latest HD cameras for ENG, EFP, and long-form/documentary content gathering, including Panasonic GH7's.
* Use non-linear editing systems proficiently, understanding the complex in-house workflow from acquisition to contribution with Adobe Premiere.
* Utilize IP technologies (LiveU's/Starlinks/IP dishes) to deliver LIVE and recorded content from the field.
* Collaborate with Sky News correspondents, field producers, and fellow camera operators/editors to gather, manage, and deliver high-quality content across all platforms.
* Manage personal broadcast equipment, including ENG camera, sound, and other gear, and operate company pool/hired vehicles as needed.

* Extensive experience in delivering raw and edited news content under tight deadlines and challenging environments.

* Willingness to work in 'Breaking News' environments, including travel to anywhere in the world on short notice, sometimes in hostile or high-pressure settings.
* Ability to operate ENG cameras, editing, and transmission equipment confidently for news gathering.
* Good IT skills.
* Understanding of news dissemination for online platforms, including Facebook, X, and Sky News Mobile App.
