As the Enterprise Solution Architect for the Securing the Future (StF) programme at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the digital infrastructure of our New Hospital Build. This strategic position is responsible for defining and maintaining the Trust's Enterprise Architecture Blueprint, ensuring alignment with national NHS digital strategies, interoperability standards, and the Intelligent Hospital Capabilities (IHCs). You will lead the design and integration of digital solutions across clinical, operational, and building management systems—including BMS, EMS, IoT, security, fire, and lighting—ensuring seamless data exchange and supporting the "golden thread" of information across the Trust ecosystem. Your work will directly contribute to safer, smarter, and more efficient healthcare delivery. Collaboration is key: you'll work closely with the Digital Lead, Transformation Team, Estates, IT, and clinical stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet operational and clinical needs. You'll facilitate workshops, validate designs, and support the development of technical specifications and digital implementation roadmaps. The incumbent will be working closely with the Digital Senior Business Analyst and Digital Project Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of healthcare infrastructure, contributing to a once-in-a-generation investment in digital transformation and sustainable hospital design.
Main duties of the job: Be an inspirational leader and an expert in your field, working autonomously on high‑profile systems and solutions. Manage the enterprise architecture function within the organisation, taking a leading role in the overall direction of business and digital capabilities. Successfully lead and manage a geographically dispersed team, both from within the NHS and wider industry working on multiple architecture projects or programmes. Define and connect strategies or visions across the organisation or ICD, enabling the implementation of shared strategies or visions. Communicate persuasively and effectively, building relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple business or technical areas in the organisation and its partners. Set the strategy, and deliver technologies to enable the safe, secure and successful integration of systems across the hospital throughout the construction and operation of the building, incorporating clinical, construction and estates systems—a first for the NHS. Be skilled in project risk management and be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve the organisation and its partners. Work with technology partners to inform their roadmaps. Demonstrate an understanding of strategic issues, and be conversant with the organisation's IT strategy, policies and standards.
