Spire Southampton Hospital are looking for a Deputy Pathology Laboratory Manager to join the Pathology department. Your role will be to manage and develop the service within your specialised area expertise of the pathology service, and across a range of services provided by the laboratory. You will Deputise within the pathology department, local hospital and spoke hospital sites in the absence of the Pathology Manager. Duties and responsibilities: Develop practice including investigation and reporting, within your areas of specialist expertise. Analyse, interpret and report information and knowledge related to ideas and concepts. Develop and evaluate the movement of laboratory specimens and blood. Assist with research and development. Develop practice in the application of technology for measuring and monitoring pathology investigations, within your specialist area of expertise Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information. Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others. Promotes best practice in health and safety and security. Assist in maintaining and developing services. Lead others in the quality improvement of pathology services. Support and enable equality, diversity and rights. Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practices Assist the Pathology Manager in maintaining and supporting the effective use of physical and financial resources Support the Pathology Manager by undertaking human resource activities for the pathology team. Who were looking for: Degree qualified, HNC Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent which would allow individual to be eligible for Associate Membership of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences. Biomedical Scientist with the Health & Care Professions Council. Experience in a haematology/blood transfusion or biochemistry hospital scientific laboratory. Achieved ISO 15189 accreditation Experience working within a quality assurance and control culture maintaining safe standards Achieved ISO 15189 accreditation across a variety of laboratories Experience Managing across teams and hospital laboratories.
