Position: Finance and Operations Assistant
Reporting to the Finance and Operations Manager, the Finance and Operations Assistant will assist in managing the financial operations in the business. This role provides critical support across the business - primarily split between Finance and Operations. The purpose of the role is to take ownership of multiple operational tasks to enable the teams around you to deliver their work effectively.
Responsibilities
1. Processing supplier payments, bookkeeping, and bank reconciliations for Operational Expenditure using Spendesk and Xero
2. Owning the AR & AP processes and acting as the main contact for partner invoicing queries
3. Driving innovation with smart use of technology and automation to improve finance operations
4. Working with the CX team on monthly billing, preparing customer invoices and statements
5. Assisting with the creation of periodic internal reporting
6. Balance sheet management and monthly reconciliations
7. Intercompany transfers/cash flow management as required
8. Assisting with monthly reconciliation of merchant/affiliate receipts
Requirements
* Prior experience in finance operations, credit control, and ideally experience of running and improving financial close processes
* Excellent numerical skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions). Familiarity with accounting software (Xero) and expense tools (Spendesk) would be beneficial
* Exposure to financial services, rewards industry, or SaaS products
* Previous experience in a startup would be beneficial
* Ability to work autonomously and with a proactive mindset, willing to pursue and explore different routes to solving problems
* Strong analytical skills - comfortable with numbers and enjoy solving problems that present numerically
* Great communication skills - able to effectively convey messages to partners and senior stakeholders within the business
* Ability to prioritize across multiple projects and deliverables in a high-paced environment
