Help for Psychology is a friendly, growing team. We carry out multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental assessments and provide psychoeducation and therapy for children and young people at our clinic in Norwich. We are a recognised provider of NHS Right to Choose services in Norfolk and Waveney. We have a team of employed and associate clinicians, and this role has been developed specifically to support our existing senior clinicians (who also work part time) in managing our team of employed clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists, and trainees from the UEA. There is also the opportunity to join the senior management team in shaping the future direction of the company.
This would be an ideal role for an experienced clinical psychologist seeking a more flexible role, with opportunities to balance workload and professional development. We are open to flexible work hours and even consider a term-time only contract. We are committed to providing a holistic, multi-disciplinary service to children and young people, with clinicians from various disciplines (psychiatry, paediatrics, occupational and speech and language therapy), offering an attractive salary, benefits, a comfortable work environment, and free parking on site.
Main duties of the job
The role offers a flexible mix of clinical work (assessment and therapy), supervision, and management, along with the chance to be part of the senior management team shaping the company's future. We handle complex cases, requiring a good understanding of autism, ADHD, joint presentations, trauma, attachment difficulties, and mental health challenges. Therapeutic approaches include psychoeducation, adapted CBT, EMDR, ACT, Compassion Focused Therapy, and CAT, with openness to new ideas and training.
Strong supervision skills are necessary, and we support the successful applicant in pursuing management training or coaching. There are also opportunities to support workforce planning and contribute strategically.
About us
Founded in 2015 as a small, family-run practice, Help for Psychology has grown significantly while maintaining a family-like atmosphere. We support flexible working practices, understanding the importance of work-life balance, and tailor clinical appointment times accordingly.
We value high-quality assessments, ensuring families feel heard, and have invested in tools to reduce admin time, allowing clinicians to focus more on clinical work. We support CPD and training, with opportunities to engage in research and data collection through our links with Kings College London, providing access to research papers and tools.
