Interaction Designer
Location: London / Croydon (Mostly Remote)
Salary: £500-£565 per day via Umbrella
Contract Duration: 6 Months (extension available)
Clearance: BPSS + SC Clearance required
Role Brief:
* Design collaboratively and transparently, engaging the Buyer team in the design process and adapting it as needed.
* Record design iterations, progress, and decisions using design histories as part of daily workflow.
* Use evidence to challenge assumptions, negotiate with product owners, and rationalise design decisions.
* Create prototypes and mock-ups to iterate user journeys and features, explain complex ideas, and support development.
* Set the design direction and promote best practices.
* Champion accessibility and inclusion, ensuring designs meet accessibility, legal, and security standards.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the borders space, influencing and collaborating to improve design quality.
* Utilise analytics data, user feedback, and research to identify user needs, map journeys, and inform strategy.
* Encourage knowledge sharing within and across teams, ensuring designs are reusable and consistent with the GOV.UK Design System.
* Identify and evaluate processes and delivery methods, including measuring outcomes.
* Interpret stakeholder needs into visual and interactive representations.
* Collaborate actively within the team and network with others.
* Consider end-to-end strategic service design.
* Work with the Buyer team to define research scope and priorities.
