Permanent Role

We make health happen
At Bupa, we’re on a mission to become the world’s most customer-centric healthcare company. We help people live longer, healthier, happier lives – and we’re building a better world while we’re at it. Technology is at the heart of this journey, and we’re looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect – UI/UX and Front-End Frameworks to help shape the future of digital healthcare.

This role is a key part of our digital transformation. You’ll lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and user-friendly front-end frameworks and SDKs that power our mobile and web experiences. You’ll also help ensure consistency across our digital platforms, making it easier for our customers to access the care they need.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development of enterprise-wide architecture strategies aligned with Bupa’s digital goals.
• Oversee the implementation of our mobile strategy and ensure consistent user experiences across platforms.
• Identify reusable user interactions and manage their lifecycle as part of a component library.
• Formalise the use of SDKs and front-end frameworks to ensure scalability, security, and interoperability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess feasibility, define roadmaps, and prioritise initiatives.
• Monitor emerging technologies and apply them to improve our digital offerings.
• Provide consultancy and quality assurance across architecture deliverables.
• Track progress, manage new work requests, and contribute to capability building within the architecture team.

What We’re Looking For
• 10+ years of experience in mobile application development and architecture (iOS, Android, or cross-platform).
• Deep knowledge of cross-platform frameworks like React Native and Expo.
• Experience with Micro Frontend (MFE) approaches and modular architecture.
• Familiarity with tagging and analytics tools (e.g. Tealium, Firebase, Google Analytics, Amplitude).
• Understanding of A/B testing, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, and cloud-based architectures.
• Experience implementing policy-as-code and automation practices.
• Strong commercial acumen, with experience in costing, budgeting, and project estimating.
• At least 7 years as an architecture practitioner, including 3+ years in the healthcare industry.
• Experience working in a product-centric organisation and developing service roadmaps.

We’re also looking for someone who:
• Thinks strategically and acts decisively
• Is customer-centric and future-focused
• Communicates clearly and collaborates effectively
• Brings energy, adaptability, and a problem-solving mindset

Benefits
Our benefits are designed to make health happen for our people. Viva is our global wellbeing programme and includes all aspects of our health – from mental and physical, to financial, social and environmental wellbeing. We support flexible working and have a range of family-friendly benefits.

Joining Bupa in this role you will receive the following benefits and more:

• Enhanced pension and life insurance
• Private medical insurance
• Access to internal development programmes and career pathways
