The Pharmacy Assistant role entails day-to-day tasks such as ordering, receiving, and unpacking pharmaceutical products, adhering to Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Key responsibilities include ensuring timely sourcing of medicines, accurate use of the pharmacy computer system for receiving goods, acting as a second checker for Controlled Drugs administration, conducting regular stock and expiry date checks, and maintaining high standards of work accuracy. Additionally, the role involves managing Medicines Optimisation work, communicating with healthcare departments, dealing with queries, and adhering to prison procedures and regulations.
Responsibilities
* Order, receive, and unpack pharmaceutical products in line with GDP and departmental SOPs.
* Ensure timely sourcing of medicines and accurate use of the pharmacy computer system for receiving goods.
* Act as a second checker for Controlled Drugs administration.
* Conduct regular stock and expiry date checks and maintain high standards of accuracy.
* Manage Medicines Optimisation work and communicate with healthcare departments.
* Respond to queries and adhere to prison procedures and regulations.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Candidates must undergo National Security Vetting and provide necessary documentation as outlined in the job description.
* Documentation required includes proof of right to work, ID, address history, and, for non-UK passport holders, additional documentation as specified.
* Guidance for obtaining Police Certificates is provided for applicants with international residency.
