We are currently seeking an interim Laboratory Coordinator to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple. Join their fast-paced FMCG environment as an integral team member.
This full-time temporary role is based at our client’s scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral, accessible by train and car. The position is for 12 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation is competitive, up to £29,719 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

Role overview:
Coordination and preparation of fragrance evaluations for the HC Fragrance Team, ensuring standard and safe operating practices.
Duties include:
Coordination
* Collaborate with fragrance experts to plan upcoming fragrance evaluations, book facilities, prepare test cloths, and manage sample orders.
* Maintain stock for ballast loads and monitors, ordering as needed.
* Manage the benchmark and fragrance oil libraries, keeping them up to date and registering products in the database and LIMS.
* Represent the fragrance team in meetings to ensure smooth operations and cost savings.
* Manage visitor bookings, lunch orders, and meeting room reservations.
Preparation
* Complete Job Sheets with protocols and test requirements.
* Log test product samples into the database.
Preparation of fabrics
* Ensure quality and best practices in fabric preparation, including desizing, labeling, and making up ballast loads.
* Order fabrics and test monitors to maintain stock levels.
* Prepare samples with correct dosages and labels, and perform water hardness adjustments.
* Conduct test washes and sort monitors for assessment.
* Prepare cloths for fragrance assessment and manage re-use of ballast loads.
* Track project costs and suggest process improvements.
Safety
* Create and maintain SOPs and Risk Assessments.
* Report safety or maintenance issues.
* Dispatch samples globally following safety and labeling protocols.
Requirements
* Awareness of safety procedures, including SOPs and risk assessments.
* Teamwork and strong organizational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
