Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and reliable Workshop & Field Support Assistant to join our team manufacturing and deploying solar-powered security CCTV towers. This is a varied role where you'll support skilled technicians both in our workshop and on client sites. Responsibilities include equipment preparation, cleaning, assisting with assembly and repairs, maintaining inventory, and supporting deployment teams in the field. You will also travel regularly to sites to assist with tower installations, servicing, and fault response. The role requires practical ability, mechanical awareness, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety. A full UK driving licence is essential.
Duties
Workshop Support
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
* Assist with the assembly and preparation of solar-powered CCTV towers prior to deployment.
* Clean, test, and service tower components such as solar panels, batteries, cameras, and lighting.
* Retrieve, organise, and label tools, spare parts, and consumables.
* Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
On-Site Support & Travel
* Travel to client sites across the UK as part of a deployment or maintenance team.
* Assist with the installation, setup, and commissioning of CCTV towers.
* Support on-site maintenance, including cleaning solar panels, replacing batteries, and basic fault finding.
* Safely load, transport, and unload towers, components, and tools using company vehicles.
* Provide hands-on support with positioning and securing towers on-site.
Repair & Technical Assistance
* Assist with disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of tower components under supervision.
* Carry out simple repairs and adjustments to mechanical and electrical systems as instructed.
* Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Safety & Compliance
* Follow all company health and safety procedures.
* Wear and maintain appropriate PPE.
* Report hazards, defects, or incidents promptly.
* Ensure safe working practices both in the workshop and on-site environments.

Administrative Tasks
* Complete basic paperwork, work orders, and service checklists.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
* Full UK driving licence.
* Practical aptitude and basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
* Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all weather.
* Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and support skilled technicians.
* Good attention to detail and commitment to safety.
* Enthusiasm, reliability, and motivation to learn and develop.
Desirable:
* Previous experience in a workshop, construction, or technical role.
* Experience with solar power systems, CCTV, or electrical equipment.
* Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
* Technical or vocational qualification in a relevant field.
Things to Consider
* A DBS check and basic financial screening will form part of the recruitment process.
* The role involves regular travel to client sites, with occasional overnight stays.
* Work is often outdoors and physically demanding.
