Contract Manager Energy Portfolio Location: Kent / London (site & office-based) Salary: £90K-£95K package We are recruiting for an experienced Contract Manager to take ownership of a major HV energy portfolio. This is a senior, hands-on role with full P&L responsibility, managing a team of Project Managers across multiple live schemes. You will be responsible for a portfolio valued at £50M, with direct oversight of circa 10 - 15 live projects covering a mix of civils, structures, and substation works. Responsibilities: Running multiple jobs at once and making sure delivery teams are hitting programme and budget Being out on site and in the details of projects Managing Project Managers and Contracts Managers setting expectations and holding them to account Keeping control of the numbers CVR, WIP, costs, and overall performance across the portfolio Dealing with NEC contracts as they happen on live jobs (early warnings, changes, compensation events) Sorting issues quickly on site before they turn into bigger commercial or delivery problems Acting as the main link with the client maintaining relationships and protecting future work Handling day-to-day challenges with the workforce and management teams, including difficult situations when needed Working around the constraints of Central London jobs permits, stakeholders, local authorities, TfL, Network Rail Keeping programmes moving and realistic using P6 Making sure sites are running properly in terms of safety, quality, and overall delivery Requirements: Proven experience in a senior Contracts/Contract Manager role within energy, utilities, or infrastructure Strong track record managing large-scale portfolios (£30M ideally) Extensive knowledge of NEC contracts (Option A & Option C essential) Strong commercial understanding, including WIP and CVR Experience managing teams of Project Managers on live projects Comfortable dealing with people issues and performance management Technical background in electrical, civils, structures, and/or substation works Experience delivering projects in Central London, including working with local authorities and third parties Experience using P6 planning software Working Arrangement: This is a site-led role. Youll be expected to be across projects, offices, and client locations regularly. Its not a work-from-home position.
