The Field Services Engineer role is a critical part of our IT support team, responsible for diagnosing and repairing technical issues on various equipment.
We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team as a Field Services Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for providing IT hardware support, including installs, moves, and changes across client sites.
Key responsibilities include:
* Traveling between customer sites to provide IT support services
* Providing support for a range of IT equipment, including PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, peripherals, and point of sales systems
* Performing on-site installations and troubleshooting on a variety of products in software or hardware environments
* Maintaining vendor certifications required by us to perform the role
* Following documented procedures and providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement
* Adhering to safety and electric static discharge (ESD) precautions
* Completing relevant documentation and providing quality updates as required for each site visit
* Participating in the on-call rota, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
* Providing support services to wider teams within the Integrated Technology Solutions department
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Experience with installing, troubleshooting, and fixing hardware devices, including end user computing, PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, and peripherals
* Ability to install and configure software as per customer requirements
* Relevant and current vendor certifications, such as Dell, Lenovo, IBM, and HP
* A good understanding of hardware maintenance and break-fix
* A full UK driving license
* UK security clearances, such as SC and NPPV3, to attend external and varied customer sites
This role requires a quality-focused individual with excellent attention to detail, able to work independently and remotely on a wide range of products. You should be methodical and quality-minded, with a 'can-do' attitude and a passion for delivering results.
