Clinical Lead Adult Community Mental Health
Job summary
This is a fixed-term/secondment post for 12 months to meet service needs. Applicants must obtain permission from their current line manager before applying.
The Clinical Lead will support the Operational Team Leads across Newtown and Welshpool CMHTs, leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver a clinically effective Nursing Service, including assessment, treatment, and Care Co-ordination for community-referred patients with complex needs.
Responsible for proactive case management, accountable to the Health Board Nurse Director and NMC, ensuring safe, high-quality care aligned with national and local policies and standards.
Main duties of the job
* Manage a designated caseload, oversee prescribing, supervise team members, liaise with partner agencies, chair MDT meetings, monitor practice standards, recruit and manage staff, and oversee deployment and duties.
* Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, and patient experience.
* Implement and monitor adherence to local and national nursing policies, procedures, and legislation.
* Manage and deliver care for patients with complex, unstable health needs safely and effectively.
* Maintain accurate documentation, timely data collection, and support service development and audits.
* Conduct training needs analysis and implement training plans.
* Participate in research and development activities.

Qualifications and knowledge
* Live registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse
* Degree/Diploma in Nursing
* Post-registration qualification or significant experience in Mental Health
* Management/Leadership qualification or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of managing patients with complex needs
* Understanding of NHS nursing issues and NMC standards
Desirable
* Independent Prescribing Qualification
* MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice
Experience
* Management experience demonstrating service improvement capability
* Proactive caseload management experience
