Business Development Manager Public Sector

We are seeking a Business Development Manager - TPI Public Sector Sales to join our expanding and award-winning sales team.

This field-based role involves engaging with senior stakeholders to expand Ecotricity’s Third Party Intermediary channel within the Public Sector, aligned with our growth forecasts. The role includes managing a portfolio of existing and new TPIs, such as energy consultants, brokers, and other intermediaries.

The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with credit, finance, operational, and customer service teams to ensure financial health and excellent customer management. Additionally, the role involves influencing B2B sales strategies, focusing on sales efficiency and new product introduction.

This diverse and challenging role requires excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Achieve sales targets aligned with the B2B plan.
2. Develop and support the Public Sector TPI portfolio, implementing necessary changes within Ecotricity.
3. Proactively seek new framework agreements and maintain ongoing compliance and contract reviews.
4. Build strong relationships with partners to deliver excellent customer service and achieve targets.
5. Provide quotations for Gas and Power contracts, managing the process from tender to acceptance.
6. Communicate regularly with the Team Manager – Public Sector Sales.
7. Collaborate with other departments to promote the company’s brand and products.
8. Innovate to expand the customer base and support new product launches.
9. Assist back-office teams with aftersales support and customer care.
10. Attend client meetings and events as required.
11. Participate in new business pitches and contract securing, ensuring proper client registration.
12. Work with KPIs and business reporting tools.

Candidate Profile:

Ideal candidates will have a passion for our vision of a Green Britain, with an energetic and dynamic approach. Experience in identifying opportunities, strong commercial acumen, and excellent communication skills are essential. The ability to connect with our values and work collaboratively across departments is vital.

Additional Requirements:

* Understanding of the energy industry (desirable but not essential).
* Utilities industry experience is advantageous.
* Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP or similar CRM, and Microsoft Office.

* Relationship management at all levels, including setting customer expectations.

* Commercial awareness, creativity, and adaptability.
