English Teacher - Secondary School

Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

We are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Northampton who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their team from February or April 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role:
Deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4
Teach both English Language and English Literature
Plan, assess and provide meaningful feedback to support pupil progress
Adapt lessons to meet the needs of learners of varying abilities
Work collaboratively with the English department on curriculum planning and enrichment
Promote a positive learning environment that encourages reading, critical thinking and confident communication
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified English Teacher with QTS/QTLS (or equivalent)
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
A reflective and committed classroom practitioner focused on pupil progress
Confident and effective behaviour management skills
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply - full induction support available
