SEED Environmental is looking to appoint a proactive, reliable
Restoration Operative
to join our Fire & Flood team. The successful candidate will support Restoration Technicians in the clean-up, strip-out, and reinstatement of domestic and commercial properties damaged by fire, flood, or other disasters.
This is a physically demanding, hands-on role requiring practical skills, teamwork, and attention to detail. You'll operate specialist equipment and assist in a range of general construction and remedial works, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality restoration for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Support Restoration Technicians with the removal of damaged building materials, including flooring, plasterboard, and timber.
* Assist with reinstatement and general remedial works such as:
* Studwork, patch plastering, boarding
* Basic plumbing and carpentry
* Kitchen and bathroom fitting
* Tiling and minor construction support
* Set up and monitor drying programmes using industry equipment (e.g., dehumidifiers, air movers).
* Operate specialist restoration tools and machinery, including ice blasting where required.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times ("clean as you go" standard).
* Follow all site health and safety rules and company protocols.
* Work across multiple sites in the UK, with overnight stays where necessary.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
:
* Strong practical ability and confidence using a variety of hand and power tools.
* Physically fit – able to lift, carry, bend, and work in confined spaces.
* Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality workmanship.
* Team-focused, with strong communication skills.
* Full, valid UK driving licence.
* Willingness to work evenings or weekends as part of an emergency response rota.
Desirable:
* Experience working in fire or flood restoration (training can be provided).
* Basic understanding of plumbing, carpentry, or building reinstatement.
* Familiarity with commercial vehicles and driving long distances.
