Year 5/6 Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing from September 2026 The inspection report highlights a positive and well‑structured school environment where pupils demonstrate strong behaviour and positive attitudes to learning. Teaching is purposeful and engaging, supporting pupils to make good progress across the curriculum. Leadership provides clear direction and fosters a calm, inclusive culture with a strong focus on safeguarding and pupil well‑being. This Year 5/6 Teacher role offers the opportunity to work full time within a supportive primary school setting on a long‑term, ongoing basis. The Year 5/6 Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that support pupils as they prepare for the transition to secondary education. This role is ideal for a confident and committed KS2 teacher who is looking for consistency and the chance to make a meaningful impact from September 2026. Duties as Year 5/6 Teacher: Plan and deliver engaging lessons for a mixed Year 5/6 class in line with the national curriculum Create a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment Support pupils’ academic progress and preparation for Key Stage 2 assessments Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs Differentiate lessons to support pupils with a range of abilities Maintain clear routines and high expectations for behaviour Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum planning and consistency Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development Communicate effectively with parents and carers where required Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times Ideal Year 5/6 Teacher: Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification Experience teaching in upper Key Stage 2 Confident classroom and behaviour management skills Ability to motivate and engage pupils of varying abilities Organised, reliable, and committed to a long‑term role Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Why Step Teachers?
