Job Purpose
To work as an effective member of the nursery team, to deliver a flexible, high quality early learning and childcare service in order to meet the individual needs of children and their families ensuring their wellbeing and improving the outcomes for children and their families.

Temporary, Full Time (from Friday 14th August 2026 to Friday 2nd July 2027)
PVG Membership
PVG membership required for regulated work with children and/or protected adults. Candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership, applied only to full time positions with a salary of £30,000 and above. The Council will initially pay the membership cost, deducting from the first full month’s salary payment.
Minimum Qualifications
* HNC Early Education and Childcare / NVQ Level 3 Children’s Care and Development NNEB, or equivalent.
* Registration with or eligibility to register with SSSC.
* PVG membership or willingness to obtain before formal offer is made.
Core Skills and Attributes
* Ability to relate to children, parents, carers, and professional colleagues.
* Ability to assess children’s development and plan to extend learning in a motivating way.
* Effective communication skills, including verbal, non‑verbal and written forms.
* Strong observational and listening skills.
