About the Role
Are you passionate about crafting beautiful, high-quality designs? As our Joinery Workshop Manager, you'll be at the heart of our in-house manufacturing, leading the charge to create innovative Retail Solutions. Your expertise will help us maintain the exceptional quality and craftsmanship we’re known for as we grow and evolve at Cute Studio.
What You’ll Do
Operational Leadership
* Oversee the daily operations of our workshop to keep everything running smoothly.
* Manage and schedule projects to ensure timely deliveries that keep our clients happy.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment for everyone to thrive.
* Coordinate with our design, procurement, and installation teams to ensure seamless operations.
Quality & Craftsmanship
* Make sure every piece of joinery meets our high standards and delights our clients.
* Conduct quality checks throughout the production process and collaborate closely with the design team to bring each project to life.
* Encourage continuous improvement in our production methods to enhance quality.
Team Management
* Support and supervise our talented joiners, apprentices, and subcontractors.
* Lead engaging daily production briefings and feedback sessions to foster collaboration.
* Help develop workshop productivity and nurture the skills and performance of our team.
Technical Oversight
* Oversee the operation and routine maintenance of our workshop to keep everything in top shape.
* Manage our tools, materials, and resources to ensure efficient production.
Health & Safety
* Ensure that we comply with all health and safety regulations, creating a safe environment for everyone.
* Keep up-to-date risk assessments and safe-working procedures to protect our team.
Reporting & Projects
* Partner with our Directors to plan for our production capacity and growth.
* Report on workshop performance, material usage, and production costs, working closely with the operations director.
* Help us develop improved manufacturing processes as we scale.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in a leadership role within a Retail joinery or Exhibition Manufacture workshop.
* Strong knowledge of Retail Joinery materials and construction techniques.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD production files.
* Competence with woodworking machinery and powered tools.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* A positive, solutions-focused mindset.
Nice to Have
* Experience with Laminate MDF & Solid Surface Material (Corian/Hanex) Post-forming and manufacture.
* Knowledge of spray finishing techniques.
* IOSH / H&S training or certifications.
