Thirsk | Permanent | Site-based As an Area Shift Leader, you will be responsible for leading your team and managing the consistent application of processes across your shift to ensure products are manufactured in line with agreed production plans, quality standards, and safety requirements. You'll oversee day-to-day operations within your area, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement, while creating a safe and engaging environment for your team. Working closely with the wider operations team, you'll play a key role in delivering performance targets and driving operational excellence. On Offer: £18.81 per hour 42 hours per week 12 hour shifts - days (6:00am to 6:00pm) and nights (6:00pm to 6:00am) DuPont shift pattern (4-week cycle including a mix of days, nights, and rest days, plus a 7-day break within the cycle) Paid monthly (last Friday of each month) The Role: Delivering shift productivity and efficiency targets in line with the production plan Monitoring raw materials, processes, and the production environment to ensure compliance with food safety standards Managing labour deployment to align with operational requirements Communicating effectively with the operations team, highlighting risks and reporting on performance Monitoring machinery performance through OEE, downtime tracking, and root cause analysis Promoting a strong health & safety culture, ensuring compliance and reporting of incidents and near misses Driving continuous improvement across quality, performance, and cost Leading, coaching, and developing team members to maximise performance and engagement You'll need to: Have experience managing teams within a manufacturing or production environment Have a good standard of education with strong literacy and numeracy skills Be able to communicate clearly and effectively Be IT literate, including use of Microsoft Office Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, complex environment Have an understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP/Food Hygiene desirable) Have knowledge of health & safety practices (IOSH desirable) Be able to lead, motivate and develop a team Our Total Reward Benefits include: Overtime, enhanced pension, life assurance and enhanced maternity, paternity, sick pay and holiday buy options Healthcare cashback plan and Hertility at-home fertility testing Heavily discounted pet food and lifestyle benefits (Netflix, Spotify or breakdown cover) Retail and gym discounts, electric car scheme, and free onsite parking and charging Onsite canteen, free hot drinks and modern facilities.
