Make a life-changing difference in the lives of vulnerable young people whilst advancing your career in specialist SEMH education.
At Humly, we're passionate about placing the right people in the right settings – and right now, we're looking for an experienced and compassionate SEMH Tutor to support a specialist SEMH school in Newcastle.
This is a long-term temporary role, perfect for someone who thrives in a nurturing but challenging environment and is committed to helping young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs achieve their potential.

This role is based in a welcoming, specialist setting where relationships and emotional wellbeing are at the heart of everything.
What You'll Be Doing
* Delivering personalised tutoring sessions tailored to each student's needs
* Building positive, trusting relationships that support both learning and emotional growth
* Supporting students with managing behaviour and emotions in a safe, respectful way
* Collaborating with teaching and pastoral staff to create consistent support plans
* Encouraging progress – both academically and socially
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience working with young people with SEMH or additional needs (essential)
* Strong communication, empathy, and behaviour management skills
* Confidence in supporting core subjects, especially Maths and English
* A calm, consistent, and trauma-informed approach
* Flexibility, resilience, and a genuine passion for making a difference
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Humly)
