Teaching Personnel are seeking a science teacher to join one of our secondary schools from September 2026.

The School

The Science department is a high-performing team, supported by two skilled Science Technicians. The department benefits from six modern, specialist laboratories and preparation rooms, ensuring all Science lessons from Year 7 onwards are taught in well-equipped practical spaces. Pupils follow the AQA Science Trilogy GCSE, with a strong uptake of Triple Science, and the department actively promotes curiosity and achievement through practical learning and enrichment opportunities.

The Role

The successful candidate will be expected to teach Science across Years 7 to 11. Due to the current expertise within the department, specialists in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics are all welcomed. In addition to teaching responsibilities, most secondary teachers also act as form tutors for a year-based tutor group, with an appropriate time allowance provided to support this role.

The position includes full teaching responsibilities such as planning, marking, assessment, and contributing to curriculum development. This role is available on a permanent or temporary basis, depending on the successful candidate’s circumstances and preferences.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be a well-qualified and enthusiastic Science teacher with strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, and a clear commitment to the ethos of the school. They will be an effective classroom practitioner with confident behaviour management, an awareness of current curriculum and GCSE requirements, and an interest in innovative teaching approaches and educational technologies. The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues, create an inspiring learning environment, and maintain high standards of organisation, resilience, and professionalism is essential, alongside a strong understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
