We're looking for two Electricity Distribution Fitting Network Technicians to join our Major Projects Maintenance team, based in Redruth or Bodmin, playing a key role in maintaining and developing the South West electricity network up to 132kV.Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of Primary and Grid Substations at 33kV and 132kV. Your role will involve planning and overseeing daily activities, monitoring and supporting your team, undertaking switching operations up to 132kV, issuing safety documentation, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with operational standards.This role provides a varied and rewarding working environment, supporting major infrastructure projects across the region. You will be confident making on‑the‑spot decisions, able to communicate clearly, and capable of working under pressure to tight deadlines.You will have:Level 2 City & Guilds 2339 (essential)Level 3 City & Guilds qualification, or a willingness to undertake this if not already attainedProven overhead lines experience, ideally within a DNO, transmission or major projects environmentExperience working on steel tower (pylon) infrastructure (strongly preferred)Competence in receiving and working under permits on pylonsSwitching experience, ideally up to 132KV, or working towards relevant authorisationsQualified as a Senior Authorised Person up 132KV or willingness to achieve this authorisationA full, valid UK/EU driving licence and mobility across the area.Computer literacy, with the ability to use digital tools and systems effectively.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.A flexible and proactive approach, adapting well to changing priorities.Flexibility to undertake standby duties as operational needs require.Some National Grid roles involve working at height or the use of fall arrest equipment. For safety reasons, an upper weight limit of 135kg applies due to equipment safe working loads.
