Senior Engineer – Bridges & Structures Manager needed in Rotherham, £38.13ph to £45.70ph PAYE - Reference: 000A 2363 / 1
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Engineer with strong leadership experience in transportation infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in road traffic, safety legislation, and technical standards (DMRB, CoP, CDM), with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage highway structure assets, including bridges and retaining walls, developing maintenance programs, funding bids, and supervising inspection programs.
2. Lead and manage delivery of schemes across various values within the Transportation Capital Investment Programme, monitoring budgets and liaising with the Transportation Infrastructure Service.
3. Represent the Service on working groups, forums, and partnerships.
4. Utilize technical data to prepare cost estimates, specifications, drawings, contract documents, bills of quantities, and schedules of work.
5. Provide consultancy advice and produce technical reports for stakeholders.
6. Develop briefs, oversee detailed design, and coordinate with other service units, agencies, and partners to foster cooperation and deliver customer-focused services.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience leading teams and managing projects.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, or similar software.
* Ability to design and implement traffic and highway schemes meeting diverse stakeholder needs.
