My client, a design led growing house buider, are currently seeking a Technical Manager.
The Technical Manager will support the wider Group, working closely with Construction, Commercial, Design, Planning and Sales teams. The role is responsible for the accurate, timely delivery of architectural and technical information across all project stages.
You will play a key role in ensuring that all technical outputs align with the house builders standards of quality, sustainability and buildability, across bespoke homes, luxury developments and specialist construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Director’s in day‑to‑day technical matters
* Lead and chair Design Team Meetings at early and critical stages of development
* Oversee the production of working drawings, technical packages and construction details, ensuring accuracy, clarity and buildability
* Ensure technical information is issued on time and in line with construction and procurement programmes
* Provide technical input during land appraisal, planning, pre‑construction, construction and post‑completion stages
* Review and validate new site information prior to committing to detailed design
* Assess planning approvals for Building Regulations compliance and technical risk
* Agree design programmes, consultant scopes, detail packages and superstructure strategies prior to issue
* Coordinate consultants to ensure architectural, structural and MEP information is fully aligned
* Manage technical changes post‑planning and coordinate minor amendments where required
* Ensure NHBC / warranty approvals (or equivalent) are secured and conditions discharged promptly
* Oversee applications, payments and coordination of Building Control and warranty providers
* Promote sustainable construction methods and innovative technical solutions across projects
Experience Required
* Proven experience in a Technical Manager or Senior Technical role within residential or high‑end construction
* Background in luxury residential, bespoke housing or developer‑led projects preferred
* Demonstrable experience managing high‑performing technical or design teams
* Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, planning processes and construction detailing
