We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our Cement and Packed Products Team at our Aberthaw site, close to Rhoose, Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales. The role is easily commutable from St Athan, Llantwit Major, Barry, Cardiff, Bonvilston, Cowbridge, Llanblethian, Gibbons Down, Penarth, Pontypridd, Bridgend, Newport, Caerphilly, Tafs Well, Cwmbran, Porth, Tonypandy, Sarn, Pencoed, Llantrithsant, Pencoed, Port Talbot, Swansea, Neath, and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibilities
As part of the UK and Ireland Cement and Packed division, you as a Graduate Electrical Engineer will participate in our 3-year graduate scheme, helping you to make decisions to deliver business impact, present powerfully, communicate effectively, and develop key skills. You will play an important role in keeping UK infrastructure moving, contributing towards the successful production of cementitious products. An exciting role where you can see the outputs of your hard work all around you (quite literally!).
Key focus of the Graduate Electrical Engineer position (not exhaustive):
1. Learn your engineering craft, gaining detailed understanding of Cement Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production via dedicated development programs.
2. Contribute to successful continuous plant performance.
3. LV/HV Installations: Design, install, and test electrical installations following IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, Electricity at Work Regulations, Quarry Regulations, including inspection and testing regimes, fault level analysis, and protection settings.
4. Instrumentation Systems: Process instrumentation calibration, control and safety systems, PLC programming and fault rectification, and implementation of capital projects.
5. Adhere to company policies, systems, and procedures, ensuring compliance with the Integrated Management System.
6. Assist in tracking key process parameters, analyzing data, and optimizing plant performance.
7. Develop safety awareness and lead safety standards improvements.
8. Participate in root cause analysis for plant unplanned downtime.
9. Gain knowledge of system integration into plant operations.
10. Initially based on one plant, with opportunities to gain experience across UK and Ireland plants or international assignments.
11. Take pride in your work and strive for success.
Operational colleagues you will liaise with include site managers, business managers, engineering and maintenance teams, health & safety teams, procurement, technical teams, and others.
