Job description
You will be working within a small staff team and a wider volunteer team, to help ensure that local people in need are able to access emergency food support. You will be responsible for organising the foodbank office's day to day administrative activities, including corresponding with clients, volunteers, trustees and members of the public. You will need to be compassionate and caring, and either understand or be willing to learn about issues affecting people in poverty.
Main duties
* Take responsibility for the organisation of the foodbank office's administrative activities and operations
* Ensure efficient compliance with company policies
* Manage the foodbank diary
* Manage agendas and any accompanying papers for meetings; take minutes of meetings as required
* Manage phone calls and foodbank correspondence
* Contact clients and book their appointments for foodbank sessions
* Maintain databases for clients, personnel, finance, and other data
* Track and order office stationery and supplies
* Any other duties deemed necessary by line manager
Key Skills
ESSENTIAL
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Good organisational skills
* IT competent in Word, Excel spreadsheets etc
* Must be able to work in a team and independently
* Must be eligible to work in UK
* Knowledge and understanding of the need for professional boundaries, safeguarding, and confidentiality
DESIRABLE
* Flexibility and willingness to work outside specified hours if necessary (overtime to be claimed)
* Competent in Publisher, Powerpoint, and other design packages
* Understanding and knowledge of potential support needs of clients

Working pattern
* Monday 9am-1pm
* Tuesday 9am-3pm
* Thursday 9am-3pm
* Friday 9am-1pm (may be subject to change, but not without notice)
* Occasional weekend overtime available
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
