The Role As a Project Manager, you will plan and deliver foodservice projects within the UK, and occasionally Europe and other worldwide locations. Internally the candidate will be working with the wider Project Management team as well as other departments including Sales, Design and Technical Support in the preparation of project delivery plans. Externally the role will include the site delivery and management of foodservice installations. This would be hands-on role and there would be an expectation for you as part of the team to assist with the movement and positioning of equipment and units. Foodservice projects include: Catering equipment installations within traditional buildings, tent structures and modular buildings Portable Kitchen installations comprising modular units from the PKL hire fleet Catering modular permanent building installations The position is office based, with the requirement to work on site as needed. Split estimated at 60% on-site, 40% in office. Tasks and Responsibilities Take responsibility for the profitable delivery of projects on time and within the agreed budget Provide leadership for internal and sub-contract teams to facilitate the successful completion of projects Manage quality issues to ensure that the standards specified by the client are met Liaise closely with the client on all matters relating with the project Work tightly to the contract with the client and ensure that all contractors working for PKL have clear scope of works. Ensure that any changes or delays by the client result in clear contractual changes and any associated costs are agreed If on site, daily progress report back to the Head of Projects Maintain a tight grip on costs on a day-to-day basis Work tightly within the client contract and ensure that all contractors working for PKL have clear scopes of work. Ensure that any changes or delays by the client are communicated internally and externally. Qualifications Technical Qualifications & Required Experience CSCS competency card as a minimum, manager’s card preferred but not essential. Previous experience of construction sites preferred. Site supervision useful but not essential. Experience in commercial catering operations desirable but not essential Knowledge of the UK Event Industry desirable but not essential Proficient knowledge of MS office suite Personal Attributes Able to supervise and control a small team in a fast-moving operational environment “Hands on”, can do attitude Good communicator at all levels – thinks up, down and across.
