Resettlement Support Worker Hours: 29.6 hours per week Contract: Fixed Term until 31 March 2027 About the Role We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Resettlement Support Worker to join our team at Worcester City Council. In this rewarding role, you will make a real difference to the lives of refugees and people seeking sanctuary from a range of countries and immigration backgrounds. You’ll support individuals and families arriving through the Homes for Ukraine Scheme, as well as asylum seekers placed in Worcester by the Home Office and newly recognised refugees. Your work will help some of the most vulnerable members of our community settle, rebuild their lives, and feel at home in our city. This is a varied and dynamic role — no two days are the same. You’ll work in a fast-paced and sometimes challenging environment, collaborating with colleagues across the Council and with partners such as landlords, banks, the DWP, and local voluntary and community organisations to achieve the best outcomes for those you support. About You We’re looking for someone with experience of working with refugees or vulnerable communities, and with a good understanding of welfare benefits, immigration processes, housing options, and the challenges faced by people rebuilding their lives after displacement. You’ll bring: Empathy and compassion, with a genuine commitment to helping people settle and thrive. Resilience and adaptability, able to work proactively and positively in a busy environment. Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to solve problems creatively. Confidence working both independently and as part of a team. Good IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate and timely records.
