About the Role
As a Social Worker within the Neighbourhood team, you will support adults and their families who have complex social needs, including disability, vulnerability, social exclusion, or reduced mental capacity.
We are recruiting a committed and experienced Adult Social Care Social Worker to join our Neighbourhood Teams in North Essex, working across both Colchester and Tendring.
The Neighbourhood teams operate as part of an integrated approach, working closely with health, housing, and voluntary sector partners to provide coordinated support for adults aged 18 and over. The service covers all Adult Social Care specialists, delivering statutory duties under the Care Act 2014.
The teams are multi-disciplinary and include Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Community Support Workers, offering a collaborative and supportive working environment. You will also have the opportunity to work with assistive technology and specialist equipment to help deliver sustainable, person-centered solutions that promote independence.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a varied and complex caseload
* Undertaking Care Act assessments, reviews, and support planning
* Completing Mental Capacity Assessments and best interest decisions
* Carrying out adult safeguarding enquiries
* Assessing risk and implementing proportionate, strengths-based interventions
* Working directly with individuals, families, and commissioned services
* Contributing professional expertise within a multi-disciplinary team
