Overview
The Department of Clinical Neurosciences is a large academic research Department studying the nervous system to find new treatments for neurological disorders such as Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. We also study neurosurgical topics, addressing care and patient support for those affected by traumatic brain injury and other disorders of the nervous system. Research from the Department has real life impact, and we have an opportunity for a Laboratory and Facilities Manager to join us.
Responsibilities
* As a member of the Department Business Operations Team, manage the Department's facilities across its occupied buildings.
* Fulfil the role of Safety Officer for the Department and ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines governing research.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide effective and efficient support to the Department's research outputs.
* Be based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus; on confirmation of appointment, may adopt the Department's hybrid working model. The post is expected to be present on site for most of the time.
Qualifications and Experience
* Significant experience and understanding of the health and safety guidelines governing our research.
* Experience working with biological and chemical materials.
* Previous safety specialist experience and experience of research laboratory equipment and environments is essential.
