Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating forklifts and managing warehouse operations effectively. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products within the facility, contributing to overall efficiency and productivity.
Hours
PM Shifts 12noon-9pm (Monday to Friday) + OT
Rates of Pay
PM Starts first 12 weeks £13 ph, Over time £13 ph
Post 12 weeks £14.15 ph, Overtime £17.83
Duties
* Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to load and unload materials from lorries.
* Manage inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock levels and locations.
* Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation of all incoming and outgoing goods.
* Conduct regular inspections of equipment, reporting any issues for repair or maintenance.
* Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols during heavy lifting and movement.
* Collaborate with team members to maintain an organised and clean warehouse environment.
* Assist in basic mechanical repairs as needed, utilising mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a warehouse setting, preferably as a Forklift Operator.
* Valid forklift Counter Balance certification is essential.
* Strong understanding of materials handling processes and safety regulations.
* Basic math skills for inventory management and documentation purposes.
* Ability to lift heavy loads consistently throughout the shift.
* Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures is advantageous.
