We are currently looking for a highly motivated and professional individual to join our team as a receptionist at our busy GP practice. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the practice and providing excellent service to our patients.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a part time receptionist (15 hours/ week with the opportunity for over-time) to join our experienced team on a permanent basis. After full training, you will be call handling, booking appointments, completing administrative tasks and other duties as required.

About us
Old Road West Surgery is based in Gravesend, and a short drive away from Bluewater Shopping centre. We are a growing practice with over 9,500 patients. We have three salaried GP's, two advanced clinical practitioners, three paramedics, three nurses and two Healthcare assistants. Our surgery is open Monday to Friday 8am-6:30pm excluding bank holidays.
Job responsibilities
* Greeting patients and visitors, making them feel welcome
* Managing appointment bookings and reminders
* Answering phone calls and responding to any inquiries
* Maintaining patient records and ensuring confidentiality at all times
* Assisting with patient registrations and updating personal information
* Assisting with administrative tasks, such as filing and photocopying
* Liaising with healthcare professionals and other staff members
* Providing general information about the practice and signposting patients when relevant (list is not inclusive of all tasks)
Person Specification
Experience
* -Ability to work well under pressure
* - Empathy and understanding when dealing with patients
* - Flexibility to help cover occasional shifts if required
* Previous experience in a similar role preferably within a GP practice or healthcare setting
