The Role: Project Controls Lead
Reporting to the Project Commercial Lead, you will establish and oversee a full suite of project controls across cost, schedule, risk, change management, and reporting. Your work will ensure project performance is consistently analysed, communicated, and used to drive effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain project budgets; monitor expenditure, forecast costs, and manage change control.
* Lead the creation and integration of project schedules (e.g., P6, MS Project) across all workstreams.
* Identify, assess, and manage project risks and opportunities; maintain risk registers and implement change control procedures.
* Produce dashboards and progress reports (e.g., Power BI) for senior leadership and enabling teams.
* Ensure compliance with internal controls, contract obligations, and regulatory standards.
* Collaborate closely with project managers, commercial teams, planners, and client stakeholders to ensure consistent application of project controls.
About You
* Proven experience leading project controls on major construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
* Strong knowledge of cost control, scheduling, risk management, and reporting methodologies.
* Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Power BI.
* Ability to interrogate contractor schedules and integrate them into master programmes.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience with NEC contracts or large-scale project environments is a plus.
Desirable:
* Chartered or working toward chartership with ACostE, APM, or equivalent.
