We are seeking an Associate Project Manager with proven experience gained within a construction consultancy setting, and specifically with a prior focus on projects within the Commercial and Residential sectors to join us at either our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices.

Our team has significantly grown in the last few years and is continuing to attract high performing individuals looking to progress their career and work on bespoke and interesting projects.

As an Associate Project Manager joining our team, here’s what you’ll do:

1. Manage one or more moderately complex projects, involving a combination of the following:

2. Administer the SBCC / NEC4 suite of contracts

3. Clients with a regional geographic footprint; OR,

4. Projects involving multiple services provided by regional IE offices; OR,

5. May manage all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).

6. Works mostly independently but receives basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.

7. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.

8. Provide line management and mentoring to all staff members reporting to you and ensure that they have current and relevant training

9. Participate in business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities, ensuring that these are identified and acted upon

10. Management of tender documents, appraisals and negotiations

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

11. You will ideally be from a consultancy or client organisation with the ability to successfully support and lead construction projects within the Commercial and Residential sectors.

12. Pre and post contract design /project management expertise over the RIBA lifecycle

13. Excellent communication and organisational skills

14. SBCC Contract Administration

15. Maintain accurate project records (both paper and electronic)

16. Robust Stakeholder Management process

Preferred Qualifications:

17. Academic Qualification – ideally Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Degree

18. Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution

19. APM affiliation preferred (as secondary accreditation)
