The Road Safety Team are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to expand our team of established volunteers assisting with the day-to-day administration of Community SpeedWatch across Sussex. Volunteers make a vital difference to our work to reduce speeding vehicles across the county, having a direct impact on the number of people who are killed or seriously injured on the roads of Sussex. Key Responsibilities

* Providing support to Community SpeedWatch (CSW) groups across Sussex.
* Delivering operational guidance to CSW groups and distributing service equipment.
* Assisting with training delivery to CSW groups.
* Inputting data and records onto the CSW online systems.
* Working closely with CSW Administrators.
* Collaborating with the wider team and colleagues to manage and address ongoing speed concerns.
* Acting as a key point of contact for CSW groups, providing advice and support.
* Supporting Community SpeedWatch teams at public events to promote road safety.
* Attending Safety In Action events around East Sussex, delivering short lesson plans as part of the Road Safety team educational programme.
* Helping at school and community events as required by the CSW Officer.

Requirements & Qualifications

* Ability to learn key road safety information and deliver lesson plans with minimal supervision.
* Experience operating with Community SpeedWatch groups, ideally with experience as a group co‑ordinator.
* Good communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to adapt communication based on the needs of the individual.
* Proficiency in IT systems; additional training on back‑end systems will be provided.
* Ability to think on your feet, log information quickly and accurately.
* Calm under pressure and confident to work independently, supporting local volunteer teams across Sussex.
* Excellent people skills with experience of dealing with enquiries and complaints.
* Valid driving licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel across Sussex; mileage will be reimbursed.
