Join the Community Mental Health – Older Adult Service, supporting patients with a range of mental health conditions including dementia, psychosis, mood disorders, anxiety, and emotional regulation difficulties.
The multi‑disciplinary team includes psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, social care and carers workers, assistant psychologists and support workers. The Clinical Support Assistant supports the delivery of a variety of evidence‑based interventions, including medication monitoring, triage, occupational therapy interventions, and 1‑to‑1 and group psycho‑education.

Job responsibilities
The role of the Clinical Support Assistant involves supporting the delivery of a variety of evidence‑based interventions, including assistance with medication monitoring, triage, occupational therapy interventions, and individual and group psycho‑education.
Qualifications
* Foundation degree in Health or Health and Social Care or psychology, including Assistant Practitioner or currently undertaking the course, or equivalent skills and knowledge developed in practice
Knowledge and skills
* Good written communications
* Good verbal communications
* Effective organisational skills
* Ability to follow policies and procedures
* Understanding of Equal Opportunities
* Understanding of confidentiality
* Understanding of health and safety issues
* Knowledge and experience of person‑centred approaches to care
* Awareness of current good practice in the care of people with mental health, dementia or challenging behaviour
Experience
* Experience in community mental health care
* Experience of working effectively to support people in distressed states including significant mental health needs, challenging behaviour or offending behaviour
