Core hours 10am-4pm Location: Home-based/Belfast Office (1 day in Belfast office) Hours per week: 22.5 (Work pattern to be agreed on appointment) Salary: £15,444 per annum Term: Ongoing, subject to funding. Please note that funding is currently secured until 31 st March 2026, but Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful is actively seeking funding to continue the post. Applications close 9am Monday 17th November 2025 Interviews will be held, in person, in Belfast on Monday 24th November 2025 Purpose of role Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful seeks to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic Communications Officer. The post holder will be responsible for the ongoing content management and promotion of the newly launched myEARTH platform ( www.myearth.org ). The successful candidate will work across Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful departments; project partners, Northern Ireland Environment Link ; and over 40 delivery partners. Duties and expected outcomes Fulfill administrative function for the myEARTH platform- this includes reviewing and approving content from delivery partners, approving delivery partner requests and replying to enquiries sent to the myEARTH email address. Maintenance of the platform, raising tickets with our IT provider as necessary. Manage relationships with myEARTH delivery partners and support them with the creation of platform content, such as action cards and resources. Generate ideas for new delivery partners, and make initial approaches to relevant organisations. Contribute creatively and directly supporting the wider Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful team in all communications activities relating to myEARTH. This includes aligning with the organisational communications strategy and ensuring myEARTH brand guidelines are adhered to. Create myEARTH content for Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful social media channels. Produce myEARTH email content. Play an active role, alongside the Communications Manager, in driving engagement with the myEARTH platform. Support press/ PR activity, drafting press releases and identifying case studies to showcase myEARTH. Organisation of photography / videography. ADMINISTRATION Respond to all general enquiries. Respond to specific enquires that require a technical answer. Produce reports on all activities undertaken as may be required. As required, represent Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful at relevant meetings. Assist in any other duties as may be required from time to time. Person Specification ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Undergraduate Degree in any discipline but preferably comms/marketing or 2 years’ relevant experience 1 years’ digital communications experience Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships Demonstrable experience producing effective content for different audiences Basic data literacy, including the ability to interpret communication metrics Well-developed ICT skills especially the Microsoft Office suite, Canva, social media and MailChimp. Full current driving license with access to own transport preferred. DESIRABLE CRITERIA Knowledge of environmental matters Experience managing a complex website or digital platform Knowledge of campaign planning and delivery General Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful operates a hybrid working policy. The post holder will be required to work at the office in Belfast at least one day per week, attend full team meetings in person, and attend in-person events across Northern Ireland. IT equipment and support is provided for staff to enable them to be efficient and effective. Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful operates flexible office hours between 8am and 6pm, with core hours between 10am and 4pm. This is an important role in a small organisation and, given the nature of the work, on occasion, you will be required to operate outside of your normal working hours to attend meetings or events at evenings and weekends. Flexibility for this is vital and time-in-lieu will be offered in return. Authority Commission work only in line with company procedures, and obtain best value at all times. ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful is a community focussed organisation with a commitment to reducing its impact on the planet. A key approach in achieving this is through Carbon Literacy training for all employees. This programme, delivered in partnership with the Carbon Literacy Project, raises awareness about the climate change challenge that we all face as well as the commitments we can make to behaviour change that will help reduce emissions. New employees will be expected to attend Carbon Literacy training as part of their induction process and contribute to an ongoing dialogue within the organisation about how we can reduce our carbon impact and improve levels of sustainability.
