The Maritime Section is looking to recruit two Seasonal Part‑Time Patrol Officers for the River Fal to cover the summer season.
* Weekend Patrol Officer – working every other weekend as part of a team of two
* Weekday Evening Patrol Officer – working Monday to Friday
Job Description
As a Patrol Officer, you will contribute to the safe and effective management of the Ports of Truro and Penryn. Your key duties will include:
* Collecting mooring, anchoring, berthing and pontoon fees
* Carrying out minor maintenance tasks and assisting with refuse disposal
* Supporting the day‑to‑day operations of Malpas Marina
* Enforcing byelaws as required
* Delivering excellent customer service to harbour users
These roles involve working independently on the water and require a professional, confident and safety‑focused approach.

What You’ll Need To Succeed
We are looking for individuals who:
* Can work independently and use their own initiative
* Have strong customer service and communication skills
* Possess good knowledge of local waters
* Hold a minimum of RYA Powerboat Competency Level II qualification (or equivalent)
Working Pattern
Weekend Patrol Officer
* Required to work Saturday and Sunday, every other weekend
* Working as part of a team of two Patrol Officers
* Shifts: 08:00–16:00, with an additional 16:00–20:00 Saturday shift once every four weeks and Sundays on a bank holiday weekend
Weekday Evening Patrol Officer
* Required to work Monday to Friday
* Hours: 16:00–20:00, with some flexibility
* Bank Holiday working will be necessary
All positions will commence at the beginning of May and finish at the end of September 2026, and will require some flexibility with hours to meet the needs of the service.
