Locum Consultant Endoscopist (BCSP)
Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Locum Consultant Endoscopist to join the Digestive Diseases Centre (DDC) within the Care Group of Surgery, Anaesthesia and Critical Care.

We are a busy NHS trust performing over 18,000 GI endoscopy procedures per year in JAG‑accredited units. The post provides flexible cover for endoscopy services at Queens Hospital and King George Hospital and offers the opportunity to develop clinical skills in a high‑volume setting.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be JAG‑accredited and Bowel Cancer Screening Accredited and will provide both inpatient and outpatient lists (including emergency and non‑emergency). You will perform a range of procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic OGD and colonoscopy, EMR, colonic stenting, ERCP, EUS (radial and linear), capsule endoscopy, and oesophageal pH/manometry studies.
Additional responsibilities include managing GI bleeding, participating in research activities, contributing to audits and guideline development, and maintaining full registration with the GMC. On‑call commitments will also apply.
Qualifications
* MRCP or equivalent
* CCT in Gastroenterology/ attainment of CCT via European Community Rights
* Full registration with GMC
* MSC
* Higher research degree - MD Res / MD
* Bowel Cancer Screening Accredited
