We are seeking an experienced, thorough, and highly motivated individual to join our team, streamlining our school's administrative processes and providing high-quality support to help our busy primary school thrive.
The Role
As our Administrative Assistant, you will be the heart of our school office, providing essential support to ensure the smooth daily operation of our school. Working under the general direction of the School Business Leader, your key responsibilities will include:
Office Management: Organising and managing the school office by establishing and maintaining efficient administrative systems.
HR Administration: Maintaining staff records and HR files, managing absence records, and booking supply cover.
Financial & Pupil Data: Recording financial information and maintaining accurate pupil records for admissions, absences, and transfers.
Communication: Acting as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and telephone queries, while providing confidential secretarial support to the Senior Leadership Team.
Medical Support: Handling sensitive issues relating to children with the utmost discretion, which includes the administration of medications and maintaining an up-to-date database of these on-site.
The Candidate
We are looking for a highly motivated and professional individual who thrives in a busy, high-energy environment. The successful candidate will possess:
Technical Proficiency: Strong computer literacy with accurate keyboard skills and experience with a range of software programs.
Exceptional Organisation: The ability to manage conflicting priorities, meet tight deadlines, and remain calm when dealing with emergencies or sudden school issues.
Interpersonal Excellence: A welcoming manner with the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
Desirable Attributes: Previous experience in a school office setting, knowledge of SIMS, or a first aid qualification would be an advantage.
Commitment: Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to contribute to the overall life and ethos of the school.
Safeguarding: This post involves working directly with children; therefore, a high degree of responsibility for safeguarding and welfare is required.
