The Role
As a Senior Project Manager within GE Power Conversion & Storage, you will be responsible for leading either one major project or a portfolio of projects, delivering critical systems for external customers in a safe, structured, efficient, and timely manner. Our projects are diverse, so you will lead multi-disciplinary project teams to design and implement highly customized solutions.
Building effective working relationships is essential, and you will be the primary contact for your customers, focusing on achieving high customer satisfaction. You will also provide leadership, support, and guidance to your project team, working within a matrix organization structure. Collaboration with your lead engineer, project team, and internal/external stakeholders is key.
You will utilize best practice project management techniques throughout the project lifecycle, including reporting progress, managing change and risks, and controlling costs. You will be responsible for the project’s financial performance, supported by our finance team, and will report progress and forecasts during project reviews. Embracing and deploying the GE lean transformation within the project management context is also expected.
We are looking for
* Substantial experience in delivering integrated system engineering projects in a commercial contracting environment with a focus on customer satisfaction.
* Degree in engineering or scientific field or equivalent experience.
* Project management training and certification.
* Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance at least to ‘Basic’ level.
* Full UK driving license.
* Ability to travel occasionally, domestically and internationally, to customer, supplier, or job site locations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.

* Experience with industrial power systems, such as rotating machinery, variable speed drives, power storage, or automation.
* Experience with SAP.
* Knowledge of construction industry standard contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC).
