Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. MRCP (UK) or an equivalent qualification
2. SCE in respiratory medicine
3. Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register for both Respiratory and General Internal Medicine via one of the following: a) Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) b) Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
Desirable criteria
4. MD or other higher postgraduate degree
Experience
Essential criteria
5. Satisfactory training in and General Internal Medicine
6. Involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate education
Ability & Knowledge
Essential criteria
7. Wide knowledge of Respiratory and General Internal Medicine. Able to give expert opinion
Clinical Skills & Technical Skills
Essential criteria
8. Independent Bronchoscopy and pleural skills including ultrasound

9. EBUS, thoracoscopy and the placement and removal or intra pleural catheters
