We are recruiting on behalf of a housing provider for a temporary Scheme Manager to support sheltered housing services on a short‑term basis. This is a hands‑on role focused on maintaining high standards of service delivery, resident wellbeing, and scheme compliance.
The role will suit someone with previous experience in housing, support, or scheme‑based environments who is confident working independently and engaging with residents.
Key responsibilities include:
Acting as the first point of contact for residents and responding to day‑to‑day enquiries
Carrying out welfare checks and monitoring resident wellbeing
Coordinating repairs and liaising with contractors and internal teams
Completing health and safety checks including fire alarms, legionella testing, and pull cord systems
Supporting tenancy management, lettings, and income‑related processes where required
Recording and escalating any safeguarding or wellbeing concerns in line with procedures
Working with partner agencies and support services to ensure residents can live as independently as possibleThe successful candidate will have:
Previous experience in housing, supported housing, or a similar resident‑facing role
A good understanding of safeguarding, tenant support, and health and safety requirements
Strong communication and organisational skills
Confidence managing day‑to‑day issues calmly and professionally
The ability to work flexibly and hit the ground runningA housing qualification or experience of working within sheltered or supported housing would be advantageous.
This is a temporary assignment for approximately 4 to 6 weeks with an immediate start required.
