Customer Delivery Driver (1) - Shepton Mallet Superstore. Tesco, Shepton Mallet, England, United Kingdom. As a Customer Delivery Driver you will be the face of Tesco on the road, delivering to customers and providing great service with a smile. The role is hands-on, physical and varied; shifts differ day to day and you will have support from Managers and colleagues back at the base.

Availability and hours
Tesco’s policy offers a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with options to work fewer hours (minimum 12) if desired. Availability windows are used to schedule contracted hours with 3 weeks’ notice of shifts. We aim to be flexible if your available times don’t match exactly.
Pay and benefits
pay starts from £13.35 per hour; this increases to £14.56 per hour for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

Responsibilities
* Deliver your part of the customer shopping trip by ensuring the van and trays are clean and tidy.
* Leave the back yard clean and free of rubbish, and pick up litter as needed.
* Ensure trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
* Load the van, check van roadworthiness, and communicate any changes to the customer’s order (including substitutions) and offer refunds as needed.
* Care for products/deliveries as if they were your own and deliver within the customer’s time slot.
* Call the customer before arriving if you are early and call the store if you are running 30 minutes or more late.
Requirements
* Valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and deliver excellent customer service.
* Warm and welcoming interactions with customers and colleagues; adapt quickly to changing customer needs.
* Energetic and driven to exceed expectations; be able to balance home and work life.
* Share ideas with management on how to improve the store for customers.
