Quantity Surveyor
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
gap construction is representing a well-established main contractor in their search for a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor in central Hertfordshire. Projects will vary in nature and include high-profile, complex projects across the commercial, education, industrial, retail, and residential sectors in Hertfordshire and into London.
Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.
* Monitor and manage project costs to ensure they remain within agreed budgets.
* Conduct detailed cost analysis and prepare variance reports, identifying risks and opportunities.
* Lead procurement activities, including the preparation of tender documentation and the evaluation of bids.
* Oversee contract management, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Ensure all projects comply with health and safety regulations, contractual obligations, and company standards.
* Compile and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, records, and correspondence.
Qualifications
* A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
* Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry is essential.
* Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
* Effective time management and organizational abilities to meet project deadlines.
* A proactive, self-motivated approach with a focus on delivering results.
* Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
* A thorough understanding of construction processes and contractual law is advantageous.
