Water Quality Scientists - Potable x 2 Roles.

Base location depends on home location and roles will be a mix of site, office and home working. Work type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Participation in an out of hours standby rota is a requirement of the role.

These roles will be a mixture of site/office/home working.
Responsibilities
* Lead a co-ordinated, planned and effective response to incidents across the business, ensuring processes and procedures are followed and actions implemented.
* Prepare reports for submission to regulators and senior managers, and review investigatory reports and exception reports.
* Ensure compliance with Performance Commitments, specifically the Compliance Risk Index (CRI), Event Risk Index (ERI), Customer Contacts and Unplanned Outage (UPO) commitments.
* Undertake the role of water quality consultant on a 1 in 5-week basis, providing water quality support within Water Quality and across the business and to external stakeholders; support and deliver key initiatives and projects related to Water Quality Compliance, Customer Contacts, Network, Production and Capital support.
* Once fully trained, participate in the water quality standby rota (minimum 1 week in 5) and provide expert support and advice to the field, Asset Management, Duty Manager and wider business as required.
Qualifications & Skills
* Comprehensive understanding of water quality processes and regulatory obligations, water treatment and distribution processes.
* Ability to manage incidents to protect public health and minimise impacts on water quality compliance.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including both written reports and verbal communication.
* Strong problem-solving ability under pressure and to deadlines; strong analytical skills and fault-finding capability.
* Ability to handle large amounts of diverse data and identify potential risks to compliance.
* Can-do attitude with ability to plan for the future and adapt to unforeseen circumstances.
* Excellent influencing and networking skills to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels within Yorkshire Water, partner organisations and external stakeholders.
* Commitment to health and safety and a willingness to operate safely; comfortable using a range of IT systems.
