M.A. Services Group is a rapidly expanding business offering a wide range of security services delivered by our highly experienced and qualified personnel. We are currently looking for experienced, motivated and passionate candidates to join our team as Retail Security Specialists.
The Retail Security Specialist is a dedicated, full-time security role responsible for managing crime-related loss in high-loss retail stores. This position serves as a critical link between store operations, security systems, and law enforcement to create a comprehensive loss prevention strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a visible presence on the shop floor, respond to and manage safety incidents in real-time, assist covert security personnel and security guards, and provide a visual deterrence to prevent low-value but high-frequency theft.
Build and maintain relationships with local police, Centre Management, and security teams, while ensuring timely reporting of theft/security incidents to the police and into the reporting system.
Review CCTV footage, collect and organize evidence such as receipts and photos, upload it to the reporting system, and serve as the primary point of contact for police requests.
Monitor and respond to all loss technology alerts in partnership with the Security Operations Centre, report incidents, maximize the benefit of security technologies through real-time intervention, and identify and report high-harm offenders.
Ensure team members are using and wearing safety devices
Assist in investigating internal stock theft
Ensure all merchandise is properly product protected
Ensure physical security of store premises
Provide value-added support for:
High risk products
Threatening situations & reporting
Review of product protection execution
Security of the shop floor
Technology systems and alerts
Correct usage of Store Use/Check Seals and Build to Sell
Key Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail security in supervisor capacity, loss prevention, or a similar security-focused role.
Retail Security Supervisor experience is highly preferred.
Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management is a plus.
Current QLD Security License.
Current First Aid Certificate.
Current National Police Check.
Strong understanding of loss prevention best practices, security systems, and criminal law related to retail theft.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with team members, customers, and Law enforcement.
Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
Proficient in the use of surveillance equipment, including CCTV systems, alarm systems, and other security technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick and informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to notice subtle changes or suspicious behavior in a retail environment.
The ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, move around the store, and respond to emergency situations swiftly.
